TINY HOUSE REVIEWS

“One of the best AirBnBs we have stayed at. The place was as described and wonderfully furnished. We also appreciated the binder filled with suggestions on what to do locally.”

“Our host in Lubec, Maine was Birgitte and this host goes far beyond exceptions. She made sure everything was taken care of and that we were always comfortable. Birgitte’s Tiny House is spotless, modern and luxurious. Every need seemed to be thought of. A wonderful place to see the best of Maine.”

“There are not enough superlatives to describe this rental. It was 100% perfect!! High end finishes, luxury bath items, stocked fridge, pantry and bar. Fire pit was stacked and ready to be lit and the hosts came back our second night to do it again!! Speaking of the hosts, they were the nicest and most hospitable we’ve ever been around.

Lubec itself was great! Take time to explore the Cobscook Shores Parks, watch sunrise at the lighthouse and walk through town.

If this is your first AirBnB you’ll be spoiled for life!”

“We had the most wonderful time at Birgitte and John's tiny house. I cannot image how they could have improved. There was an amazing well-stocked pantry, a more than comfortable bed, a deck to relax on and a firepit to sit beside at night. The view is spectacular. Do not hesitate to book your holiday here! It is special.”

“Truly a gem of an AirBnB! The hosts have created a stunning, relaxing tiny house that has very functional and practical amenities. The kitchen is great for cooking, the view from the deck is outstanding, and the murphy bed is really comfortable. Birgitte also stocked the fridge with milk, drinks, and a variety of staples for us. You can walk to the downtown part of Lubec in about 10 minutes for a coffee at Narrow Escape, a pizza pie at Morano's, or to enjoy the scenery of the harbor or Mowry Beach. This is also a great jumping off point for local hikes in Lubec, Machias, and Cutler. We crossed the border to Canada to enjoy Campobello Island (such a short drive!) and loved hiking to Head Harbor Light at low tide. We hope to come back soon!”

“This was our first stay in a tiny home and we absolutely loved it. The home is incredibly efficient, so much attention to detail. Birgitte and John are awesome hosts, going that extra mile to create an elevated experience. The home has a beautiful deck where you can in enjoy the sunset on Johnson Bay with a glass of wine.”

— Joan, August 2022

“If you’re reading this, please just go ahead and book a stay at this great little spot already. This place really captures the feel of Lubec. We had an amazingly relaxing stay. Birgitte and John were super accommodating and thought of everything to make the stay as comfortable and inviting as possible. Can’t wait to do it again.”

— Patrick, July 2022

“We loved our time in Birgitte's little house! We didn't expect all the special little things that were already in the house when we arrived, to include an outside fire ready to be lit; and having a few groceries and snacks available was such a relief in such a small town. The space itself was bright and cheery, a testament to the clean white finishes and windows on every wall! The only suggestion I would have for future guests is to bring a sleeping mask if you are sensitive to light. Remembering that Lubec is one of the first places to get sun in the morning means that the sun rises really early!! And though we woke up in a supper cheery mood... it was definitely earlier then expected. All in all, this is a great little space for a get away, and we would definitely stay again!”

“Someone must have told our hosts there was a birthday in our party because a fine bottle of ribboned Prosecco was waiting for us in the fridge (along with an impeccable and fully stocked larder and bar!). Our hosts, Birgitte and John couldn’t have been nicer; the internet couldn’t have been faster (~200mps) and the accommodations couldn’t have been cozier, nor classier (Le Creuzet cookware, matching retro City Chill and Big Chill induction stove and fridge, SMEG coffee maker and teapot, lovely original watercolors on the walls, complementary wooden handled toothbrushes with natural bristles, encased in cute little cloth satchels, Tom’s natural toothpaste, skin products and soaps all Malin & Goetz, gorgeous marble shower).

The first night we sat around the fire pit, watching the sunset over the water as the flames dance, tucking into the Prosecco as night falls (wood supplied by Birgitte and John and fire already stacked and ready to go!). By the time we thought of dinner it was almost 8pm and everywhere in town was closed or closing (caution – there are few restaurants in town, and they all close at the same time!). No worries! We returned and cooked a scrumptious cheese omelet, fell into bed and slept like dead people. Next day we explored Campobello in steadily improving weather, eager to return to our tiny house home for the second night – a barbecue!

All in all a blissful two days and nights! We are all gratitude, and looking forward to a return visit.”

“Our stay at The Tiny House at Seal House was wonderful!! The location, amenities and hosts were the best. Sooo clean and cozy. Definitely want to come back.”

“This tiny house will exceed your expectations. Birgitte has thought of everything, from the well stocked fridge(seltzer, milk, juice, wine, fresh cheese, eggs and local bagels) to the sweetly appointed 240 feet of luxury living. The outside spaces have a lovely view of the water and the fire pit beckons. The spot is also just a short walk to town. Bar Harbor’s overcrowded and Lubec could use the visitors so plan your trip and explore downeast Maine.”
